What Every Internet Marketer Should Know About Spyware

If you use any type of Internet business, Adware and Spyware can be a very serious problem. These programs hide on your PC and do all sorts of annoying and potentially dangerous things.

Viruses can spread to your computer. The good news is that Spyware applications usually stay in place, just like a parasite. Spyware collects information about your messaging and browsing behavior and your online preferences with the intent to sell it to online advertisers.

Adware is a program that displays advertisements on your PC, including banners and pop-ups. Some adware applications also track user behavior using the application without the user's knowledge.

If you find ads constantly appearing on your computer, your home page changes several times, mysterious toolbars appearing in your browser, a noticeably slower PC, or any other weird thing happening then chances are you have some form of spyware or Adware on your computer.

It's scary to know that you are being "watched", and that private information that you assume is safe can actually be used against you. Adware / Spyware programs can enter your computer via e-mail, instant messages, or download files. This is especially daunting for the Internet marketer, because we constantly buy and download new products and services online.

If you pile up some Adware on your computer, things can get pretty ugly. It's getting to the point where every time I opened my browser search toolbar will appear at the top (even though I kept uninstalling it), along with about 5 popup windows. I could not get any job done without some kind of interruption every 2 minutes. Talk about embarrassing! I run virus software, like Norton did not help.

If you are in the same situation, do not despair. There are programs available (both free and paid) to help you get spyware and adware from your computer. This is not the intent of this article try to sell you on any piece of software. In fact, I recommend starting with free software, and the evaluation of your situation.

If you still have popups or other symptoms after running spyware free programs, do a little research and upgrade to a paid version. Most offer some sort of guarantee, and the money you spend will be well worth the headaches and problems of the spyware on your computer.
